Paolicelli, Bilello Give Verbals To Iona College

Iona College will add 2 new swimmers to the women’s swimming roster next season, as Kendall Paolicelli and Adrienne Bilello have announced their verbal commitments to join the Gaels next fall. Paolicelli is a swimmer for Laguardia Aquatic Club and attends Mary Louis Academy. Bilello swims for the South Jersey Aquatic Club and is a senior at Shawnee High School.

Kendall Paolicelli:

Paolicelli will add depth in both breaststroke and IM for the Gaels next season, but the 100 and 200 breast are arguably her best events. At the 2016 Metro 15-18 Age Group Challenge Meet, she clocked new best times of 1:08.11 in the 100 breast and 2:26.40 in the 200 breast. She also swam a personal best 4:41.11 in the 400 IM at that meet.

Paolicelli’s Top Times:

Event Best Time
100 breast 1:08.11
200 breast 2:26.40
200 IM 2:13.91
400 IM 4:41.11

Paolicelli should have a scoring impact for Iona College at the MAAC Championships right off the bat. She’s already fast enough to have scored in the 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 IM, and 400 IM at the 2016 MAAC meet. Her biggest impact will likely come in the breaststrokes, where her times are already in championship final range.

Adrienne Bilello:

Bilello is primarily a freestyler, but she’ll also add depth in the butterfly events. Last season, she competed in the Middle Atlantic Senior Championships, showing her versatility in the 100 through 1650 freestyles, 100 fly, 200 fly, and 200 IM. She placed in the top 20 at that meet in the 1000 and 1650 freestyles.

Bilello’s Top Times:

Event Best time
100 free 56.72
200 free 1:59.34
500 free 5:15.38
1650 free 18:05.74
100 fly 1:00.85
200 fly 2:12.52

Bilello should have an immediate scoring impact for the Gaels at the MAAC Championships. She’s already fast enough to score in the 500 free, 1650 free, and 200 fly. AT Iona, she’ll train alongside Kaitlyn Mahon, one of the top 8 swimmers in the 1650 free at 2016 MAACs.
