Paralympians meet the Super-Humans

Paralympians get me every time. I catch myself tearing up with each new video promo, but the one above, produced by Britian’s Channel 4, and the one below tell the story better than any I’ve seen. The Olympics is about the lone athlete, striving for perfection, more often than not with little to no financial support. I know from my Paralympic friends that this situation is far more extreme in their community. However, I’ve never fully considered their emotional state, the driving ingredient that fuels their devotion to training day-end and day-out. The video narritives accomplish this in spades! Bravo! It is being super-human, in a way, overcoming genetic odds or traumatic injuries.

In Britian see the Paralympic competition TV schedule here and mark your calendar to watch.

NOTE: I cannot find the Paralympic TV schedule in the United States. If anyone can help, please advise! At this point, I know the events will be streamed.
