WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head swimming and diving coach Jeff Barlok has announced the hiring of Emily Parillo as an assistant coach for the 2018-19 season.
“I am excited to have Emily join our coaching staff,” Barlok said. “Her Division I swimming experience will provide a solid sounding board for our current student-athletes, and I am confident she will grow into a strong mentor and leader for our program. Her energy and enthusiasm for the sport will be invaluable as we work to build a top-notch Division I experience for our student-athletes.”
Parillo joins the Crusaders after a successful four-year career as a member of the University of Connecticut’s swimming and diving team. With the Huskies, Parillo competed in the butterfly and IM, recording national championship cut times on multiple occasions.
Parillo earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sport Operations from UConn in May 2018. Since graduation, she has spent time as a swim instructor and lifeguard with numerous organizations.
“I am very excited for the opportunity to start my collegiate coaching career at such an outstanding school,” Parillo said. “Having spent the last four years in the pool as a student-athlete myself, I look forward to being on the other side of the action and helping Crusader student-athletes succeed in and out of the water.”
