Patricia Castro wasted no time this morning setting a new DII 200 freestyle record touching the wall at 1:46.72 breaking Loni Burton’s mark of 1:47.10 set back a decade ago in 2005. Castro, a well-known 200 freestyler in her native country of Spain, lowered her mark from the morning further beating the field by over two seconds clocking in at 1:45.27. Her teammate Lillian Gordy (1:47.84) ran down 50 freestyle champion and record holder Bryndis Hansen (1:48.03) to take silver in the championship final.
