Redshirt junior diver Pei Lin was named the Mid-American Conference Women’s Diver of the week, the conference announced Thursday afternoon.
The award is the first of the season for Lin and the third of her career. She is the third winner of the season for the Red and White.
Lin was the only RedHawk to win two individual events on Friday against Akron. She swept the diving events once again, nearly breaking her own MAC and Miami record in the three-meter dive. In that event she scored 413.85 and in the one-meter she scored 333.07.
In the three-meter dive, she beat her nearest competitor by 124.65 points. 53.69 points was the margin by which Lin beat the second-place finisher in the one-meter dive.
Miami’s women will compete next on Saturday at home against Ball State. The senior day festivities will begin at 12:45 p.m. and the meet will follow at 1 p.m.
