Penn State Men’s Water Polo Heads To California For MPSF Championships

LOS ANGELES, Ca. – The Penn State Behrend men’s water polo team will travel to Los Angeles, California to compete in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championship Tournament March 5-7.

Friday, March 5
Penn State Behrend vs. Austin College (5/6 seed game) – 9:00 a.m.
Game 1:
 No. 3 seed Stanford vs. No. 6 seed Austin/Penn St Behrend – 1:00 p.m.
Game 2:
 No. 4 seed USC vs. No. 5 seed Austin/Penn St. Behrend – 4:00 p.m.

Saturday, March 6
Game 3:
 No. 1 seed California vs. Game 2 winner (Semifinal) – 11:00 a.m.
Game 4:
 No. 2 seed UCLA vs. Game 1 winner (Semifinal) – 2:00 p.m.

Sunday, March 7
Game 5:
 Losers Games 1 and 2 (5th Place) – 9:00 a.m.
Game 6:
 Losers Games 3 and 4 (3rd Place) – 12:00 p.m.
Game 7:
 Winners Games 3 and 4 (Championship) – 3:00 p.m.

* The Lions are back in action after a cancelled fall season
* Behrend is competing in the MPSF Championship with a play-in game against Austin to determine seeding
* The Lions return five upperclassmen and welcome five new faces
* Head Coach Joe Tristan begins his 18th season at the helm
* The championship tournament will be the only time that Behrend will compete this spring
