Pennsylvania Breaststroker Amanda Rosa Verbally Commits to Towson University

Easton, Pennsylvania native Amanda Rosa has committed her services to the Towson University Tigers. The senior at Easton Area High School, and member of the Easton Aquatic Club, is a solid breaststroke specialist that looks to be a valuable addition to the Tigers’ lineup in 2015.

Rosa won the 100 breast (1:06.16) for Easton at the 2014 Pennsylvania District XI AAA Championships and finished fifth in the 200 IM (2:12.73), dropping a significant amount of time in each event from her prelims swims. She also propelled the Easton medley relay to a first-place finish with her 29.8 breaststroke split.

Rosa’s hard work in the pool has paid off over the past two years. Her 200 yard breaststroke has improved from a 2:35.81 in 2013, to her current 2:32.23. She’s also moved her 100 breaststroke from a 2013 best of 1:10.11 to an impressive 1:06.16.

Rosa states that she’s keen to improve her times more when she arrives at Towson. “I chose Towson over my other choices because of the honesty and dedication of the program…….. and I plan on dropping a lot of time at Towson.”

Head coach Pat Mead will benefit greatly from this solid addition to his breaststroke squad in 2015.

Towson is racking up and reloading this year. After the WM win there might be a third party in contention for the title in the CAA this year.
