Pepperdine Divers Show Well On First Day of Trojan Diving Invite

LOS ANGELES, California – The Pepperdine women’s swim and dive program sent five divers to the Trojan Diving Invite on Friday at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center on the campus of USC. All five advanced to the finals of the 3-meter competition, beginning the weekend on a high note for the Waves.

In the prelims, Vivian Vallely (Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Harbor HS) paced the Waves with a score of 229.80 to earn 10th place. The freshman picked up right where she left off last weekend after earning the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference diver of the week nod. Vallely continued her strong outing with a 248.55 showing in Friday afternoon’s finals, bringing her cumulative 3-meter total to 478.35, good for eighth place overall.

Not far behind her was another freshman, Delainey Pisaruk (Phoenix, Ariz./Pinnacle HS), who recorded scores of 187.35 (prelims) and 213.95 (finals) for a Friday score of 401.30 and 12th place on the podium.

Three other divers – Lexie Martin (Keller, Texas/Keller HS), Bri Cannon (Katy, Texas/Katy HS) and Anna Johnson (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme HS) also competed in Friday’s competition, coming in 14th, 16th and 17th place, respectively.

NEXT UP
The divers will be back in action on Sunday for the 1-meter competition, with prelims beginning at 11 a.m. once again. Sunday’s finals are slated to begin at 12:35 p.m.
