Three-time Olympian Pernille Blume‘s tango to “Spectrum” by Florence + The Machine earned the highest score of the night on Danish dancing show Vild med dans on Friday.
It was a more serious dance than the others Blume and her dance partner Morten Kjeldgaard have performed so far. They paired their moves with focused expressions rather than beaming smiles under the swirl of purple and gold lights.
Towards the end, Kjeldgaard lifted Blume up and held her in the air for a solid 6 seconds where she danced with her wrists and arms before falling into a graceful dip.
They received 36 points from the judges, 4 more than any of the other 9 remaining pairs. Judge Anne Laxholm complimented Blume’s arm movements and another judge Jens Werner, said they are the couple who best compliment each other height-wise.
Blume is really picking up momentum on the show. She earned 34 points last week with a rumba which was the second-highest score of the night.
After completing week 5, Blume and Kjeldgaard have made it halfway through this season of Vild med dans. They will take on next week’s 80’s theme with a samba.
