Pete Motekaitis, UC Davis Coach, and Olympian Scott Weltz‘s coach, talks with Katrina Radke, about how they dealt with UC Davis men’s swimming program being cut. He also shares people who supported Scott financially (Rick Henderson) so that he could train for Olympic Trials.

Pete also talks about how they valued sleep and rest…how much sleep he would get, and how they built rest into their training cycle.

As we all know, Scott swam great, winning the 200 meter breast stroke at the Olympic Trials, and went onto London as an Olympian!

Also, this past weekend at the Minnesota Grand Prix, Scott Weltz swam the 100 and 200 yard breast stroke, with great in-season times. His 100 breast was actually his BEST time. Click here for an interview I just did this weekend, with Scott.
