This weekend, FINA World Championships silver medalist Cammile Adams stopped by YSST’s 2nd Annual Chris Peterson Meet in Hickory, North Carolina.
The 2nd Annual Chris Peterson Meet was created in conjunction with Swim Across America as a memorial swim meet in remembrance of one of YSST’s swim moms who passed away from breast cancer in 2014. In conjunction with the meet, the team raised money in support of cancer research, prevention, and treatment.
Adams attended the meet as an ambassador for USA Swimming. She signed autographs and then volunteered in all different capacities at the meet.
According to Robert Dant, a photographer and YSST parent volunteer, “Cammile was gracious enough to attend the meet and was the perfect ambassador for USA swimming. She greeted every swimmer with a huge smile and heartfelt interest. She jumped right in and helped everywhere possible, including taking part in the outdoor timers briefing during snow flurries.”

She was a fantastic presence at the meet and the athletes really enjoyed having her there. Again, a terrific ambassador for the sport!
