Pieroni, Bosch Earn Big Ten Swimmer of the Week Honors

Indiana’s Blake Pieroni and Michigan’s Dylan Bosch were named Big Ten Co-Swimmers of the Week. Pieroni won 3 events against Kentucky, Tennessee, and UNC: The 200-yard freestyle (1:35.91), 100-yard freestyle (43.64) and 200-yard individual medley (1:48.38). Bosch won the 200-yard individual medley (1:45.86), 200-yard butterfly (1:44.69), 100-yard butterfly (47.72) and 400-yard individual medley (3:53.09) against Penn State and Virginia.

• Collected three first-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (1:35.91), 100-yard freestyle (43.64) and 200-yard individual medley (1:48.38) against Kentucky, No. 11 Tennessee and No. 12 North Carolina
• Times in all three events are NCAA provisional qualifying times
• Mark in the 200-yard freestyle is currently the top time in the nation
• Earns his second career Swimmer of the Week honor

Dylan Bosch, Michigan
Sr. – Johannesburg, South Africa – Crawford College, Sandton
• Collected four first-place touches in the 200-yard individual medley (1:45.86), 200-yard butterfly (1:44.69), 100-yard butterfly (47.72) and 400-yard individual medley (3:53.09) against Penn State and Virginia
• All four times are NCAA provisional qualifying times
• The two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree earns his seventh career Swimmer of the Week honor
• Last Michigan Swimmer of the Week: Julian Ballestas (Feb. 24, 2015)

Diver of the Week
Matt Barnard, Minnesota
Jr. – Brisbane, Australia – Orniston College
• Swept the springboard diving events, scoring 378.60 points in the one-meter event and 398.93 points in the three-meter event against Iowa
• Posted NCAA Zone qualifying marks in both events
• Earns his fourth Diver of the Week award
• Last Minnesota Diver of the Week: Matt Barnard (Oct. 21, 2015)

Co-Freshmen of the Week
Michael Messner, Minnesota
Fr. – Sunnyvale, Calif. – Bellarmine Prep High School
• Collected two first-place finishes in the 1650-yard freestyle (15.46.35) and 500-yard freestyle (4:33.59) against Iowa
• Time in the mile currently ranks No. 10 in the nation
• Earns his first career Freshman of the Week honor
• Last Minnesota Freshman of the Week: Hunter Doerr (Oct. 14, 2015)

Hector Garcia Boissier, Penn State
Fr. – Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain – IES Politecnico Las Palmas
• Earned a pair of runner-up finishes against Michigan and Virginia in the springboard diving events
• Score of 340.85 in the three-meter event is an NCAA Zone qualifying mark
• Earns his first career Freshman of the Week honor
• Last Penn State Freshman of the Week: Rory Lewis (Oct. 7, 2015)
