Pleasant Valley High Teammates Hundley and Ehrecke Both Give Verbals to Iowa State

Past, present, and future teammates: Pleasant Valley High School and Piranhas Swim Club teammates Ashton Ehrecke and Evan Hundley have each decided to make a verbal commitment to the Iowa State Cyclones Women’s Swimming and Diving class of 2019.

Ashton Ehrecke is primarily a sprint freestyler but she also swims breast and IM. Her best short course times are:

50y free: 24.23
100y free: 53.21
100y breast: 1:09.61
200y breast: 2:30.67
100y fly: 1:00.58
200y IM: 2:14.56

Ehrecke holds the Pleasant Valley record in the 50 free and is a member of all three record-setting relay teams (200 medley, 200 free and 400 free). At the 2013 Iowa Girls High School State Swimming and Diving championships, Ehrecke placed ninth in the 50 free and was 19th in the 100. She also anchored PV’s medley relay and swam on the 200 free relay; they were second and third, respectively, in the state.

Evan Hundley is a two-sport athlete: basketball and swimming. Although she attends North Scott High School, she swims for Pleasant Valley.

Hundley swam 100 and 200 free at the 2013 Iowa Girls state championships, finishing fifth and second, respectively. She also anchored Pleasant Valley’s 200 free and 400 free relays. Since she hasn’t done a lot of short course year-round swimming, her best times come from high school:

200y free: 1:52.58
100y free: 52.93

Hundley had nice drops across the board in long course season this past summer, coming away with:

50m free: 27.60
100m free: 59.85
200m free: 2:10.87
100m back: 1:07.55
200m back: 2:28.02
200m IM: 2:28.68

The 6’1” Hundley could do some real damage once she dedicates herself full-time to swimming.

Both Ehrecke and Hundley will be great additions to the Cyclones’ roster.
