SMU Swimming & Diving Aim for 17th Conference Championship in New American Athletic Conference – AAC
The Mustangs are aiming for their 17th conference championship in the last 18 years. SMU returns two All-Americans, nine All-Conference USA selections and 23 letterwinners as it seeks to claim the first American Athletic Conference Championship this winter.
Gustavus Squad Splits; Lose in Winona, Win at Eau Claire
It was a busy Saturday for the Gustavus men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. While half the squad was in Winona, Minn. taking part in the Saint Mary’s University Invitational, the other half was in Eau Claire, Wis. competing in the UW-Eau Claire Invitational.
Arcila Named AAC Swimmer Of The Week
The Cali, Colombia, native led SMU at Rice on Friday evening with a record-setting performance in the 100-yard backstroke. Arcila finished in a time of 56.41 to break the previous record, which was set by fellow Mustang Therese Svendsen in 2011.
Shchukin, Goettler net Swimming & Diving Weekly Honors for St. Bonaventure
Shchukin (featured image) recorded three first-place finishes over the weekend, including a victory in the 100-yd freestyle in which he posted a time of 44.09. His time in 100-yd free currently ranks as the 7th fastest time in the nation.

South Dakota State’s Wil Hogue and Denver’s Johanna Roas were named The Summit League’s Men’s and Women’s Swimmers of the Week for their performances Oct. 29-Nov.4.

Claremont Mudd Scripps Wins Whittier Relays
The CMS Stags and Athenas won seven of ten events en route to a team victory at the Whittier Co-ed Relays on Saturday. The four-team competition featured a unique set of relays, each of which alternated male and female competitors.
Mustangs Wrap Up Tri-Meet Against Hawaii and UCSB
UCSB split the series with Cal Poly and Hawaii in Tri-Meet this past weekend.
University of Chicago Trumps Wheaton, IL
The Wheaton men’s and women’s swim teams continued their opening weekend of the 2013-14 swim season with a dual meet against the University of Chicago on Saturday afternoon. Chicago was victorious in both meets, winning the men’s meet 147-97 and the women’s meet 130-118.
Albion College Edges Kalamazoo College
“Andrew compliments Brad,” Albion Coach Jake Taber said. “In a meet that was going to be close we could split those guys and win extra events.”

Uconn Defeats Villanova To Win Second Straight Meet
“The strength of our men’s team showed today,” Head Coach Goldberg said. “We were able to swim our men’s swim team in several secondary events, which will be very beneficial as the year moves on.”
Johns Hopkins Women Best Marywood and St. Francis (PA) at Thomas Murphy Invitational
The Johns Hopkins women’s swim team won eight of 13 swimming events to earn wins over Marywood and St. Francis (PA) at the annul Thomas Murphy Invitational. Hopkins defeated Marywood, 270-87, and St. Francis, 225-106, but suffered a 207-156 loss to host Loyola as the Blue Jays improve to 3-1 on the season.
Johns Hopkins Defeats Loyola and Marywood at Thomas Murphy Invitational
The Johns Hopkins men’s swim team won 11 of 13 swimming events to defeat Marywood and host Loyola at the annual Thomas Murphy Invitational. With wins over the Pacers (270-93) and the Greyhounds (242-123), the Blue Jays improve to 3-0 on the season.
