Ohio State Divers Team Up to Make Scarves for Patients at James Cancer

A few days before the ground was covered with snow and the air had a biting chill to it, the weather in Columbus was nothing short of pleasant. Nearing 50 degrees with the sun shining, not to mention within days of ringing in the New Year, was actually nothing short of wonderful.

SUNY Old Westbury men’s and women’s swimming head coach Sigitas Rudokas announced the appointment of Cameron Russo to the position of assistant swimming coach for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.

Marne Erasmus, Jeff Magin Named AAC Swimmers of the Week

Erasmus produced a top-3 finish in the 100-yard butterfly and was a member of the Mustangs’ relay team that finished runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle relay in a dual meet against Texas A&M. The native of South Africa finished the 100 butterfly with a third place time of 54.81.

Rowley Set to Join Colorado State Swim Team

The Colorado State swimming and diving team has announced the addition of transfer Haley Rowley to the team. The Colorado native has enrolled in classes and will join the squad starting in the 2016-17 season.

Kalnins Earns 3rd MAC Swimmer of the Week Honor of the Season

Missouri State’s Uvis Kalnins was one of two Bears to win an event and served as the fastest anchor leg among all swimmers in the Bears’ top relay finish against Texas A&M Thursday, Jan. 7.

Wyoming sophomore Maria Harutjunjan has been named Mountain West Swimmer of the Week, while senior teammate Kari Campbell has earned MW Women’s Diver of the Week honors.

Miami (OH) Swim & Dive Kicks Off 2016

After nearly a month off from competition, the Miami University men’s swimming and diving team returns to action with a two-meet week. The RedHawks are set to compete against the University of Cincinnati on Wednesday and then face the University at Buffalo on Saturday at Buffalo, N.Y.

IUPUI’s Krisztian Somhegyi was named Summit League Men’s Diver of the Week while teammate Melissa Berger earned Women’s Diver of the Week for their performance during the week of Jan. 4-10.

The Saint Michael’s College men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams returned from nearly a two-month layoff by both falling to The College of Saint Rose on Monday at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s (RPI) Robison Poll.

Duke University swimming and diving head coach Dan Colella and the Blue Devil coaching staff have announced the signing of six student-athletes, with the group joining the women’s program for the 2016-17 campaign.

BYU Women Sweep Grand Canyon, New Mexico State

The BYU women picked up two dual meet wins over the weekend, defeating Grand Canyon University and New Mexico State University (158.5-140.5). On the men’s side, Grand Canyon swam to a 163.5-136.5 victory over BYU.

San Jose State Defends Home Pool With Win Over Cal State East Bay

The San Jose State women held a home dual meet against Cal State East Bay this weekend. Some young talent was vital to the win, with freshman Marley Maluafti winning the 100 fly (57.95) and 200 fly (2:06.67).

UC San Diego Women Earn Wins Over Bakersfield, LMU, and Colorado Mesa

In a quad meet this weekend, the UC San Diego Women added three wins to their record after beating Cal State Bakersfield, Colorado Mesa, and Loyola Marymount. On the men’s side of the meet, UC Sand Diego beat out Colorado Mesa and Cal State Bakersfield.

UC Santa Barbara Men, Women Sweep UNLV

The UNLV Rebels traveled to UC Santa Barbara for a dual meet on Saturday. Both UCSB squads held off the competition to win the meet. The women topped UNLV 168-93, while the men beat the Rebels 153-109.

Manchester’s Andrew Hinds Takes Weekly Award

Hinds, the OAC’s Men’s Swimmer of the Week, was the second Spartan to earn the award. He claimed event titles in the 50-yard breaststroke (28.9 seconds) and the 100-yard backstroke (60.52 seconds).
