On Saturday, September 20, Princeton University Varsity Women’s Swimming and Diving team hosted its 7th annual Collegians Find The Cure 5K Run on Princeton’s Campus, raising a new record of $4,898.
As was the case last year, members of various Princeton varsity teams -including Men’s Lightweight Crew, Men’s Volleyball, Women’s Lacrosse, Women’s Softball, Cheerleading, Women’s Squash, Men’s Swimming and Diving, and Women’s Water Polo- came out to support the event, as did many students and members of the Princeton community.
The proceeds from the run, along with whatever else the team is able to raise on its website through September 30, 2014, will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. (It’s not too late! Click here to donate.)
“The Princeton Women’s Swimming and Diving Team is so proud of the success of the 7th Annual Collegians Find the Cure 5K. This year, we dedicated the run to fellow PUCSDT alum Susan Moody ’94, who was recently diagnosed and is currently fighting breast cancer. The fantastic turnout for the event demonstrates the close-knit relationship between the Princeton community and the University. My teammates and I are so lucky to be a part of PUCSDT, a family both in and out of the water. We are humbled by the outpouring of support from the Princeton community, students, athletes, alumni, parents, and friends. We are very dedicated to this cause, and look forward to continuing our support for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.” -Mallory Remick, Event Coordinator
