USA Swimming has confirmed the final stop of the 2021 Pro Swim Series for May 12-15 in Indianapolis, Ind., at the IUPUI Natatorium. Indy last held a Pro Swim Series meet in 2019.
While we saw a schedule shift to evening prelims and day-after morning finals this past week at the Mission Viejo stop, the Indy stop will revert back to prelims in the morning and finals at night. The meet will run in long course meters (as usual), featuring between 200-300 athletes.
It’ll be the fourth Pro Swim Series meet of the season, marking the final LCM meet on USA Swimming‘s national calendar before the Olympic Trials. As a COVID-19 preventative measure, all attendees will be required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test before arrival to the competition venue and will be tested once again on-site prior to the meet’s start.
While some national team-ers and Olympic hopefuls will undergo pre-Trials tuneups at local meets or time trials, as we’ve seen in years past, this will likely be the last big meet with a significant convergence of American talent before Omaha.
The meet will be broadcasted on NBCSN, Olympic Channel as well as live-streamed on the USA Swimming website.

Hopefully manuel commerford walsh and brown compete and put up solids times, also titmus just got back from shoulder injury just got back in the water could that affect the aussie 800 free relay?
Aussie nationals start on Wednesday. We might see how she’s going then.
Does Ariarne Titmus face any competition at home? In 200, for instance? Are Australian Trials going to be same exciting as American ones?

These are not Australian trials( they are in June). But McKeon, Throssall , Madi Wilson, Lani Pallister, and McKeown can all throw in a good 200.
Some other events (like men’s 200 and 400 free and women’s 100 free, 200 free, 100 back ) will be very competitive .

Titmus has been competing for at least a month already. She competed at Vorgee Brisbane Sr meet on March 12-13 and went 4:06.53 in 400 Free and 8:32.54 in 800 Free. Not sure why she and Boxall are pulling gamesmanship on other AUS swimmers and saying upcoming meet is first one of year for her.
Won’t be surprise not seeing Manuel in serious competition mood until Trials. Why would she need that last PSS meet? It is too close to OT to be a check point. She would be most likely if not fully tapered at Trials then well rested at least. The third place in 50 and 100 won’t be slow at trials for sure. Showing her cards and level of readiness in May still being in serious training may play against her.
The only reason that I see can be trying her level at 200 if she still want to race this relay in Tokyo.

Definitely need to see the “big guns” in Indianapolis, especially the individuals who have turned pro.
Will USA Swimming take into consideration that some swimmers/coaches attending the meet will be fully vaccinated and, per CDC guidelines, don’t need to test before/during/after??

Yes. I read that. Vaccinated athletes do not have to pay three extra days of hotel stay while non-vaccinated have to be there three days before to go through their Covid procedure. Was it the case in Mission Viejo?

Fair question – just because MV didn’t allow does not necessarily mean Naptown (a Hoosier-ism for Indy familiar to those of us from Indiana) won’t. USAS website does not have any information about spectators, so chances are a solid no.
