The final night of action took place last night at the 2024 French Elite Championships, the primary competition that decides the host nation’s roster for next month’s Olympic Games.
29-year-old Charlotte Bonnet made the most of her final chance to qualify for an individual event, topping the women’s 200m IM podium in a result of 2:11.18. This is added to the medley relay for which she already had her name added via winning the 100m breaststroke earlier in the competition.
The women’s 50m free saw both Beryl Gastaldello and Melanie Henique dip under the World Aquatics Olympic Qualification Time, firing off respective swims of 24.51 and 24.53 in the tight contest.
Powerhouse Leon Marchand also wrapped up his 4th individual event, adding the men’s 200m IM (1:56.33) to his already-captured bids in the 200m fly, 200m breast and 400m IM.
The men’s 100m fly saw 2023 World Championships gold medalist Maxime Grousset secure his berth while Clement Secchi qualified next in line for France to have 2 representatives in the sprint. The former ripped a big-time 50.59 while the latter turned in 51.71.
On the distance freestyle front, both David Aubry and Damien Joly made the grade in the men’s 1500m free.

I’d assume LM swims the 4×100 and 4×200 relays or his schedule too full?
I assume it will happen if France get to finals. They will use Marchand only in Finals. Iwith his heavy schedule, it’s no use for using him in preliminaries.
