yeah I am not exactly jazzed about that potential line up for the 4x200m relay. They would have to pull out a monster swim at Pan Pacs/Worlds in order to get 1st or 2nd
Does anybody else think Lochte is telling us by scratching the final here that he only wants to swim on the 4×200 relay at World Champ’s, not the individual 200 free? It looks like his endurance is not at the level we generally expect because of his injury; but, I think he’s focusing on the 200 IM and 100 fly now (plus freestyle for relays).
Maybe McLean and Dwer will be our 200 men in the near future?
Boy, Townley Haas is impressive! He seems to be one of the few whose coach got the tapering right to compete well at both Juniors and Seniors this year!
Mr Lochte will never swim again the 200 free in individual at world championships and olympic games.
He should also give up the 200 back and that crazy olympic double 200 back/200 IM.
100 fly and 200 IM in individual and the relays are enough for him now in my opinion.
It looks like you are a little worried in USA about that relay. ๐
Ok, it doesn’t look crazy fast for Pan Pacs, even with Lochte in the team.
The same for 2016.
You are lucky. At the time that US relay has never looked as vulnerable since 2003, the French relay isn’t in great shape. Your only real opponent will be Australia in the next 2 years. They don’t have a superstar but they have a young and consistent team.
However, your 2020 relay team looks pretty good! ๐
Bobo Gigi crazy early predictions.

I’m voting Destin in for 2020, I’m sure some of the others might retire by then. Maybe Destin can qualify in 200 back for 2016? We’ll see, he keeps improving a lot!
hswimmer – I would wager every cent that I had that Destin Lasco won’t make the 2016 Olympic Team. Every cent I have, that you have, and that bobo gigi has, in fact. If he made that team, it would be bigger than Phelps making the 2000 team. It would require him to break the National Age Group Record by about 6 seconds.
I think Lochte will end up swimming it at Pan Pacs. And after seeing his last 50 on the back, I’m not sure he would have broken 1:47 last night. Strange meet for both the men’s 100 and 200 free’s.Both slower than last year.
I never thought I’d see the US 4x200m team look about as good as Scotland. There must be more speed there, waiting to come out in Australia.
