Summer McIntosh is continuing her siege on Canadian and world Jr records, dropping a 2:06.89 200 IM for her 2nd PB in as many events at Canadian trials. This swim makes her the #4 performer all-time, and is faster than the winning time at the 2022 World Champs and 2020 Olympic Games.
I’m a little disappointed, i was expecting 2:05.2
400 IM no problem.
great work coach brent!
keep the sys production going.
They call her deep dish the way she be fillin up her competition’s plates!
4.25.9…400IM
152.8….200Free
203.8….200Fly
Shane Gould, Tracy Caulkins, Summer McIntosh.
Once in two generations talent.
Katinka has to be up there too
No.
Katie Ledecky?
GOAT, the others are generational talents.
If McIntosh retires at age 16 (like Gould) and then as a Canadian she moves from U.S. to Australia (like Caulkins), would that make her an ex-pat ex-pat?
nice to have world junior records that are ratified AND are fastest of all time. If she PB’s in the 200 free it’s instant ratification and the 400im I hope she PB’s since she is already less than 2 tenths away from Ye Shiwen’s time. It would be crazy if she beat Liuyang’s 2:04.72 in the 200 fly, I feel like after all this swimming fast she is gonna be tired.
by the new wjr age group rules, the 200 fly record should be jiao’s 2:04.50 from 2009 worlds, but that is still well within reach
Two other targets for Friday night are:
* Schipper’s Commonwealth Record: 2.03.41
* Zhang’s textile best from Tokyo: 2.03.86
400 IM WR is the most likely.
Honestly her Fly looked incredible tonight and I would not be surprised by a 2:02 or 2:03
