Riptide 15-year-old Regan Smith capped off an impressive weekend with another win tonight in Indianapolis, taking the 200m IM. While she was just off of her lifetime best, her time of 2:17.02 won her the race by over three seconds. Lauren Edelman, a Kentucky commit, touched in 2nd at 2:20.71.

Smith raced the 100 free, too, finishing 2nd with a 56.53, shaving .35 off of her best time. Taking the win was Grace Ariola, a 16-year-old from Waves Bloomington. Ariola posted a 55.81, matching her entry time. Carmel’s Trude Rothrock was also under 57 seconds, touching at 56.74. For the men, it was Bluefish 15-year-old River Wright for the win at 52.33.

In the distance events, Lakeside’s Bryn Handley won the women’s 1500 (17:08.82), while Michigan Lakeshore Aquatics’ Skyler Cook-Weeks took the men’s 800 (8:25.74).

It’s frustrating to see her beat everyone at the Winter Classic for me. Gl Regan

50 meters of breaststroke in long course, that’s very long for Regan Smith. 🙂

Grace Ariola had a great SCY season with PBs of 22.20 and 48.98. I think she can swim 25 low and 54 high next summer in the big pool and make the US team for world junior championships in Indianapolis.

I thought Grace Ariola was more of a backstroker?
Still, 55-high in season is terrific for a 16 year old
