Regan Smith Record Pro Swim 100 Dorso 57.90-Analisi Finali Day 3

2023 PRO SWIM SERIES – WESTMONT

La terza notte di finali delle Pro Swim Series di Westmont ha visto un record della manifestazione cadere per opera di Regan Smith.

Regan Smith dopo aver dominato i 200 metri farfalla femminili vincendo il titolo con un tempo di 2:07.92, è tornata in acqua per la finale dei 100 metri dorso.

Con il tempo di 57.90, ha battuto il suo precedente record di 57.92 ottenuto in Pro Series a marzo. Questa performance è la terza da 57 secondi della stagione 2022-23: oltre a quella di marzo, la Smith ha nuotato un 57.95 agli U.S. Open lo scorso dicembre.

Smith si allena con il gruppo di professionisti dell’allenatore Bob Bowman a Tempe dallo scorso agosto. Dopo la vittoria ha parlato di come il nuovo ambiente le abbia dato i suoi frutti.

“Adoro il caldo”, ha detto Smith parlando della sua nuova casa in Arizona.

“Ho vissuto abbastanza a lungo al freddo e volevo allontanarmi da esso. È divertente nuotare. È una sfida e mi piace molto.

“Mi piace molto. Mi si addice molto. Ora sono molto più felice, amo il nuoto e amo la vita”.

Le tre nuotate di Smith nei 100 dorso da 57 secondi in questo periodo della stagione sono impressionanti se si considera che solo tre donne nella storia (lei compresa) hanno realizzato un tempo inferiore ai 58″. Rimane la seconda atleta più veloce della stagione, a soli  8 centesimi dall’australiana Kaylee McKeown.
