Reghan Boldt Verbally Commits to the University of North Dakota

Reghan Boldt of The Great Wolf Swim Team in Minneapolis, Minnesota has verbally committed to swim for the University of North Dakota.

“I really love the team. The coaches, Chris and Anthony, are awesome, and everyone reminds me of family,” Boldt said. “UND has so much to offer academically, as I plan to become a Physician Assistant and specialize in pediatric oncology.”

Boldt has certainly been focused on her academics in high school to prepare her for this goal. She is an Academic All-American with a 3.8 GPA and is involved in Student Council, National Honors Society, and Peer Leading. Outside the classroom, Boldt is a 2014 swim team captain for her high school and won the 500 yard Freestyle at True Team State this season. Last year, her team nominated her as “Most Inspirational.”

Boldt’s best SCY times include:

100 Backstroke – 58.54
200 Backstroke – 2:03.34
100 Freestyle – 54.75
200 Freestyle – 1:56.01
500 Freestyle – 5:08.76
1000 Freestyle – 10:24.82
1650 Freestyle – 17:33.49

Boldt’s 1000 Freestyle time would have been UND’s fastest last year during the 2013-2014 season. Additionally, her 1650 Freestyle would have been third for the team, behind the now graduated Morgan Lynch and junior Ali Church. In the backstroke events, Boldt’s 100 time of 58.54 would have placed fourth on the North Dakota team behind senior Erin Grabanski, sophomore Kristin Ainsworth, and the now graduated Samantha Puk. In the 200, Boldt’s time of 2:03.34 would have been the fastest on the team. Boldt has the potential to make an impact on the team’s scores right away with the continued improvement of her best times.

Boldt will not be the lone member of The Great Wolf Swim Team swimming for the University of North Dakota. She will be rejoining her former club teammate, Cole Birklid, who is currently a freshman at UND. Boldt will also be in the same class as her current club teammate, Jacob Wielinski, who is also going to swim for North Dakota next year.
