Results Of The Lead Up To Rio If There Was a Zero Tolerance Approach To Doping

Heading into the 2016 Rio Olympic Games the issue of doping in the sport of swimming has been a constant storyline which begs the question: what would our sport look like if it was completely clean?

We’ve put together an analysis of what the sport would’ve looked like if all athletes who have had a doping ban were removed from the 2013 and 2015 World Championships. The point is not to take credit away from any of the athletes who have been removed from this list, or to point fingers. Each doping case and suspension is unique, and we at Swimswam are not deciding whether or not there was ill-intent in the taking of an illegal substance.

The idea of this list is to give a picture of how the lead-up to Rio would have been different had there have been a zero tolerance approach to doping.

You took Santos 50 fly 2013 medal but not 2015 but I think he never was convicted of doping right? Etiene were on trial this year but not convicted. Also did not hardy Swam on us medley relay on 2013?
And I never knew radoslaw was convicted either

Santos was in the same situation of Cielo. Both doped in 2011 and were acquitted. Medeiros apparently nobody knows because his case is being hidden. Does anyone have any information about it?
