UC San Diego sophomore Tina Reuter (Carmichael, CA) led the Tritons to a dual win at Cal Baptist (Feb. 1) with three individual first-place swims. Reuter won the 200 fly (2:01.48), 200 back (2:00.66), and 400 IM (4:23.29). She also anchored the second-place 200 medley relay (22.84 leg). This is Reuter’s first career MPSF weekly award.

MPSF/TYR MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

UC Santa Barbara junior Justin Nguyen (Fountain Valley, CA) had two first-place swims as the Gauchos won a dual over Cal Poly (Feb. 1) to complete an unbeaten regular season. Nguyen won the 100 back (49.60) and 100 free (44.85), while also swimming the fastest split in the meet (22.88) for the second-place 200 medley relay. This is the second career MPSF weekly award for Nguyen. His first honor came after winning the same events in the season-ending Cal Poly meet one year ago.
