In Brief: Rice celebrated Senior Day on Saturday in a dual meet versus Miami at the Rice Competition Pool. The Owls celebrated seven Owl seniors: Lauren Brantley, Mimi Filkin, Briana Gellineau, Lauren Hurt, Imogen Meers, Elizabeth Myers and Hunter Smith.
The Details: In a non-traditional meet format, the Owls scored three first-place finishes on the day. Freshman Siiri Einio won both the 50- and 150-yard breaststroke events with respective times of 29.06 and 1:42.55. Sophomore Lily Cramer also placed second in the 150-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:44.13. Junior Arielle Hayon posted Rice’s third victory of the day, winning the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 24.52. Hayon also placed third in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 58.25. The Owls registered three more podium finishes with freshman Neta Ussishkin placing third in the 50-yard backstroke (26.82), junior Sydney Morgan finishing third in the 150-yard butterfly (1:32.19) and Meers placing third in the 150-yard backstroke (1:29.64).
