Rio Day 3 Medal Table: Dominant Medal Haul for Team USA

2016 RIO OLYMPIC GAMES

Lilly King and Ryan Murphy, both first time Olympians, swam incredible races to each win golds for the United States. The USA has asserted itself tonight, with Katie MeiliConor Dwyer, and David Plummer picking up bronzes in their respective events.

Also added a medal was Kathleen Baker, who certainly was not expected to reach the podium in the 100 back. Baker touched 2nd in the 100 back, just one hundredth ahead of third.

The Australian team holds a slim lead for 2nd right now in the pool, and third place Hungary could get a huge boost tomorrow. Hungarian Katinka Hosszu is the huge favorite for the 200 IM gold tomorrow night, and on the men’s side, Laszlo Cseh and Tamas Kenderesi could both grab medals in the men’s 200 fly final.

Two NCAA swimmers just won golds, beating professional swimmers.

Tell me again, who was it that said NCAA swimmers swim/train in bathtub year round and can’t swim LCM?
Tell me again, who was it that said NCAA swimmers have all the disadvantages?

The NCAA swimmers AND coaches are kicking butt in addition to the two gold medals won tonight! Heck why are the Olympics contested in LCM and not SCY? Wake up FINA, get with the program. Imagine how fun the Olympics would be with 200 yd Medley and Free Relays! The 100 yd IM yo!!! Why not a 25 yard sprint event also!!!! The rest of the world should get off their third world duff and swim in the fastest pool course in the world! America is the greatest! Go USA! Go NCAA swimming! Go say pool construction companies!

I believe it was Bobo Gigi.
He also predicted USA to win 7 gold medals.

I challenged him to wage a bet (I predicted 10 golds), he declined. He is conspicuously quiet.
