On each day of the official Olympic torch relay, carrying the Olympic flame to the Olympic cauldron in Rio de Janeiro, the Rio2016 Facbeook page is posting brilliant and spectacular images from one of the world’s unique and most beautiful landscapes. Each day until August 5th, we will bring you these stunning images.
As the Olympic torch relay will be coming to a close in the coming days, it continues to get through as many cities as possible, seeing seven on day 91 as it continued through the state of Rio de Janeiro. The torch began in Rio das Ostras and finished up in Cabo Frio, marking just around a 50 km journey on the day along the coast.
Along with those two, the torch travelled through Búzios, São Pedro da Aldeia, Iguaba Grande, Araruama and Arraial do Cabo on day 91.
The torch will have four more days of travel with the end of the relay culminating at the Opening Ceremonies on August 5th.
