A temporary suspension issued in late May has become official, as Russia has suspended Olga Klyuchnikova for 6 months, dating back to May 27th, according to the Russian Anti-Doping organization RUSADA.
Klyuchinkova tested positive on May 16th at the Russian National Championships, a meet at which she placed 4th in the 50 back in 29.17 and 8th in the 100 back in 1:03.00.
The substance for which Klyuchinkoa tested positive still has not been released by RUSADA – whose Anti-Doping Disciplinary Committee handed out the suspension.
Klyuchinkova earned a bronze medal as the butterflier on Russia’s 200 medley relay at the 2009 European Short Course Championships. She was also on Russia’s 2009 World Championships team and 2011 World University Games team.
As against the Texans failure to find virtually anything in 2,000 plus young football players etc .

Ditto a recent study on corrupt US officials listed the states with the most cases presumed successfully. ( to a negative for said official) . It was taken as x states= baaaad but in fact it was a sign of a successful state anti corruption drive.
The Russians are the only fed with various degrees of infractions in global tide of enhancing substances ? The popularity of training camps in Thailand is really just for sun & elephants . Really .
I think the Russian federation genuinely wants a clean program, but it’s a big country and hard to police dopers in this era, especially when doping is rampant in some other Russian sports like track & field (very well documented) and I’m sure the ones supplying drugs to the runners are glad to expand their customer base and profits by getting into other sports programs as well.
The Welsh CWG Athletics captain plus a world star hurdler messed up their drug regimen & had to leave the team . Embarrassing but luckily one of those horrible Australians beat up a poor little Welsh person & absorbed the prescribed bad publicity .
Am I right in thinking that Vitaly Melnikov’s case still hasn’t been finalised, or did I just miss it?
Seems to be taking an inordinately long time to resolve, he’s been provisionally suspended since April.
DanishSwimFan – was actually just thinking the same thing. Can’t seem to find any conclusion of the Melnikov case, and the Russians are usually really good about posting those things.
I wonder if he’s negotiating a reduced penalty in exchange for information like Daria Ustinova’s (freestyler) parents apparently did.
Fortunate for the Russians that this was caught domestically and shouldn’t count as a strike against them since they’re getting very close to the FINA “death penalty” for the federation because of doping issues.
