PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Oct. 22, 2015) – The Rutgers swimming and diving team returns to the poolFriday night, when the Scarlet Knights host Wagner at 4 p.m. at the RU Aquatics Center.
The meet will be a “Black Out”, as fans are encouraged to wear black to the event. The first 50 attendees will receive a Rutgers blackout T-shirt.
In their last time out, the Scarlet Knights hosted the Sonny Werblin Invitational Oct. 16-17, where RU collected nine individual victories during the two-day event. Seniors Morgan Pfaff (Red Lion, Pa.)and Joanna Wu (Kent, Wash.), junior Rachel Stoddard (Hillsborough, N.J.) and freshman Cynthia Wu (Princeton, N.J.) each registered two individual victories during the invite, while the RU divers swept the top-three positions in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.
Junior Alyssa Black (Middletown, N.Y.) and sophomore Addison Walkowiak (Ballston Spa, N.Y.)each recorded qualifying marks for the NCAA Zone Championships in March in the 3-meter diving event, as Walkowiak finished first off the boards with a mark of 337.51.
Wagner enters the meet after securing a dual victory against Bryant to open the season. The Seahawks won all 14 swimming events against the Bulldogs, a first for the program in dual action.
Individually, Seahawk Amanda Lucia was named Division I Conference Swimmer of the Week for the Northeast. Lucia delivered wins in the 100 and 200 fly, while contributing to the 200 medley relay team that produced a program-record time of 1:46.99 against Bryant.
After its dual matchup with Wagner, Rutgers hosts Georgetown, Seton Hall and Villanova for a two-day quad meet from Friday, Nov. 6 to Saturday, Nov. 7.
