PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers women’s swimming and diving team announced its 2022-23 schedule on Monday with the Scarlet Knight slate featuring five home meets at the Rutgers Aquatic Center, including the annual Battle for the Cannon Trophy and a pair of Big Ten meets.
The 2022-23 season kicks off with a pair of home dates in October with a quad meet featuring Army, LIU and Buffalo on Oct. 7-8 and Purdue in Big Ten action on Oct. 28-29.
The Scarlet Knights have a trio of meets in November. RU will make its way to Boston to take on Harvard on Nov. 4 and Northeastern on Nov. 5. Rutgers will then look to bring the Cannon Trophy back home “To The Banks” on Nov. 12 when the team hosts Princeton. The Scarlet Knights won the first meeting in the Battle for the Cannon Trophy at home in 2019, while the in-state rival Tigers captured the trophy in their home pool in 2021.
December will feature a Big Ten meet in Iowa City, Iowa with Iowa, Nebraska and Illinois on Dec. 1-3. Members of the team will also be competing at the USA Diving Nationals in Morgantown, West Virginia on Dec. 14-18 and the CSCAA Open Water Nationals in Miami, Florida on Dec. 18.
The new year starts off with a home meet with Villanova on Jan. 21 and the Scarlet Knight seniors will be honored prior to the final dual meet of the season on Jan. 27-28 when RU welcomes Nebraska to campus.
The Big Ten Championships will take place Feb. 15-18 in Ann Arbor, Michigan on the campus of the University of Michigan. Additionally, Rutgers will have one last push for NCAA qualifying times at the ECAC Last Chance Meet on Feb. 25-26 in East Meadow, New York.
NCAA Zone A Diving Championships will take place in Morgantown, West Virginia on Mar. 6-8 with the NCAA Championships on Mar. 15-18 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Rutgers will also return to the Stockholm Open in April. The event at the long course metered event with give the international Scarlet Knights an opportunity to hit the water closer to home while also going for qualifying times for championships, trials and major events.
