Fresh off of his 2012 London Olympic gold medal performances, Ryan Lochte’s Funny or Die video, Peeing in Pools with Ryan Lochte, debuts with fanfare. So far fans are responding to his comic timing. Yes, it’s go-to swim humor, but the subject gets a fresh angle and the producers of the video take it far. “Remember,” Lochte advises, “it’s ok to pee in the pool, but don’t poop in the pool…because then they shut the pool down…and then I can’t pee in the pool, and I only pee in pools.”

I am shocked and pleasantly surprised at how good he is in this. But could someone not have gotten an extra lamp up in there? The lighting is horrendous. Come on now, people. He’s an Olympian!
I love this! It was really funny! He delivers the lines just as if they were his own. Good job, Ryan!
We need a more irreverent swimming magazine like the old Swimmer magazine from Rodale that used to cover subjects like this. Remember that one, Mel? Where you professed your (then) crush on Annemieke McReynolds because she was the most like Baywatch? I believe peeing in the pool was covered in an article where both Jenny Thompson and Joe Hudepohl (or maybe it was Malchow) admitted to doing it. Ryan is just carrying the torch for those who came before him.
GMM – if he does a reality show you MUST be involved! A reality show with Ryan could me really good and fun. It could also shed light on the life of a swimmer if they actually show that aspect of his life. I am watching carefully how Ryan navigates the media post olympics…hoping he can bring awareness to swimming. But I’m also worried this could be a train wreck if left to the wrong people.
Mel – you must get a hold of his agent and get in on the production side of this. We trust you!

Agreed. This was very funny. Glad he’s not taking some of the negative media attention too seriously. The fact that he peed in a pool became headline news was kind of ridiculous.
Glad they shot two things, this turned out way better than the patrick stewart video
