Day Two prelims heat sheets

15-year-old Aleksandra Sabitova of Russia withdrew from heats of the 200 fly where she was seeded 22nd with a time of 2:17.95. Sabitova is also entered in the 100 free (seeded seventh with 55.38), 50 fly (seeded 16th with 27.38), 100 fly (seeded fourth with 59.07), and 50 free (seeded 27th with 26.32). Sabitova was the bronze medalist (55.38) in the 100 free at 2019 European Junior Championships behind Germans Isabel Gose (54.86) and Maya Tobehn (55.21).

Israel’s Gal Cohen Groumi scratched out of two events on Wednesday at FINA World Junior Championships in Budapest. He was slated to compete in the 100 fly and the 200 free and was seeded ninth in each event with 52.93 and 1:49.05, respectively. He is entered in the 200 IM (seeded fifth with 2:00.48), which runs two events before the 100 fly. Cohen Groumi won the bronze medal in the 200 IM at 2019 European Juniors behind Greece’s Apostolos Papastamos (1:59.93) and Israel’s Ron Polonsky (1:59.98). Cohen Groumi is also entered in the 100 free (sixth with 49.57), 200 breast (27th with 2:18.31), and 400 IM (21st with 4:28.35).

One swimmer who is in fact swimming the 100 fly/200 free double is USA’s Gianluca Urlando, seeded second in the fly (52.04) behind Russia’s Andrei Minakov (50.83) and first in the 200 free (1:46.51). Carson Foster is top seed in the 200 IM (1:58.69); Gretchen Walsh leads the entrants in the 100 free (54.13), Lillie Nordmann is number one seed in the 200 fly (2:07.43), and Lani Pallister is the fastest entrant in the 800 free (8:25.66). China is top seed in the mixed 4x100m medley relay.
