Baylor School hosted the Martha Bass Invitational, a small meet featuring 5 events – 200 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, and 400 IM – with little rest in between races. Dan Flack, Baylor School’s Head Coach, informed SwimSwam that junior national team member, Sam McHugh, broke three Baylor School pool records today. He started off with a 1:40.30 in the 200 freestyle, beating the previous record by .3. He was 49.65 in the 100 butterfly and 3:56.6 in the 400 IM.
McHugh recently committed to swim for the University of Tennessee. He’s been 49.38/1:45.06 in the 100 and 200 yard flys; 49.1/1:44.2 in the 100 and 200 yard backstrokes; 1:48.00/3:50.64 in the 200 and 400 yard IM’s; and 1:38.44/4:25.5 in the 200 and 500 yard freestyles.
The fourth pool record of the meet was broken by Luke Kaliszak. Kaliszak won the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.33 and recently committed to swim for the University of Alabama.
