I appreciate Yanyan sticking up for Milak, but at this point, I’m still agreeing with Coleman – if Kristof adds and Leon drops, they are probably both in the 1:51 territory, and I too am not yet convinced Kristof will go a best time in Paris (even though I hope will). If, however, Euros shows that Milak is close to his best, Leon should stick to breast – it’s the event he prefers anyway.
Re Texas winning in 25/26: agreed that it will depend on whether or not the transfer portal guys will actually transfer. I’m not at all convinced Kos and McDonald are transferring, and from what he told Hungarian media, I think Sarkany might, but he will probably… Read more »

McDonald isn’t going to Texas. He didn’t have the do not contact designation in the portal, meaning he is open to other teams.
He’d be nuts to not follow.

I think there is a very good chance Hubi follows Bowman to Texas, because when all is said and done, he came to the US to be coached by Bob. But it’s not guaranteed, and it might depend on several other factors other than him wanting to follow.
Kos, McDonald and Kharun I feel like would make sense to follow Bowman. On the other hand, I could understand if Sarkany wants to try something else. It does seem like he’s performed better with his training in Hungary vs ASU training.
As far as we know, Kharun is not in the transfer portal yet. So if Bob is talking to him or coaching him, he’s committing NCAA violations by doing so.

They won’t all go to one meet but more regionalized ones….Atlanta being one.

Texas: I imagine most of their scholarship money has been promised and signed for next year between current swimmers and divers, as well as incoming frosh! So where does Bob get more scholarship money for these out of state scholarships? Will the asu non sprinters look other places or will they walk-on, can they find $40k per kid in NIL?

It’s a complete joke to talk about the times posted (53.90, 54.01) in the women’s 100 meter freestyle when it doesn’t meet the Olympic Qualifying Time (OQT) let alone the Olympic Consideration Time (OCT).

If anything, Canada looks ripe for the pickin’ in the W 4 x 100 FR-R.
Not a lock, but if he goes 1:53 again in the 2 fly, that should do it. He also has a shot at top 6 for the relay in the 2 free if he can get to 1:45 (if he swims it). I hope he makes it. Doesnt matter to me where he swims. It appears what he is doing now is working, so I am guessing he doesnt leave.

For Marchand’s choice, the question is simple. If Milak is not in shape, not 100 % , Marchand will be Olympic champion. I think Marchand will swim under 1:52 in the OG. My prediction is 1:51.65. Nobody will be at this level but Milak. What will be Milak’s time 1:49 , 1:50 , 1:51, 1:52 ?
For the 200 breast, I’m pretty sure that Marchand will swim under 2:06 at the French trials in June. I think he is able to swim under 2:05 in Paris but Qin Haiyang too, ZSC too.
If I have to bet , I would say the 200 breast. He wants to swim this event.
Is it fair for Fina to change order for Marchand but not for McKeown?

The IOC changed the schedule so Regan Smith has to swim an evening session double (W 200 FL, W 200 BK) on Day 6 of the 2024 Summer Olympics. How the hell is that to Regan Smith’s advantage?
At the Tokyo Olympics, Regan Smith would not had to swim any session doubles even if she qualified in the W 200 BK.

I think only the 400IM is safely his.
