SAN DIEGO, Calif. – San José State swimming and diving picked up another dual meet win, this time on the road against the University of San Diego, as the Spartans won, 94-33, on Saturday.

SJSU had five individual winners and swept the two relays in the victory. The “A” team of Maddy Grimes, Rebecca PetoeKate Hanf and Katie McIntee took the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:57.42. The Spartans then took first and second in the 400 freestyle with McIntee, Gabby HengKimberlee Giggey and Antoinette Loya taking first in 3:34.58 and the “B” team of Maleah SchmidtDaria Cocol, Negin Tehranian and Makenna Mathieson finishing in second in 3:39.83.

In individual events, Erin Wayman (10:56.64) and Cocol (11:00.07) started off the morning with a 1-2 finish in the 1000 yard freestyle. SJSU then had a 1-2-3 sweep in the 50 yard butterfly. Loya took first in 26.58, edging Kate Hanf (26.92) for the top spot. Rebecca Petoe finished third in 27.02.

Madison Grimes won the 50 yard backstroke in 27.38 and the Spartans took the top four spots in the 200 yard freestyle with McIntee leading the way in 1:55.42. Hanf took the 200 yard IM (2:11.09) as the Spartans once again had the top four times.
