BOSTON – Over the past week in swimming and diving, Maine, New Hampshire and UMBC were all resting up for separate invitational meets that will take place this upcoming weekend. Binghamton and Vermont, meanwhile, both were in action and both had successful weekends. The Bearcats won two meets against Virginia Military Institute and Colgate while the Catamounts came out victorious at Bryant. Here are the award winners of the week:
Swimmer of the Week
Sarah Mantz, UVM – Sr., Swimming, West Hartford, Conn.
- Mantz registered a pair of individual freestyle victories on Sunday at Bryant in a 71-point Vermont victory, winning the 50-yard free in 24.86 seconds and clinching the 100 free in 53.04 seconds
- She was also second overall in the 200 free (1:56.04) behind teammate Kelly Lennon
- Vermont is off to its first 5-0 start since the 2011-12 season when UVM began the year 7-0
Diver of the Week
Jaime Campbell, Binghamton – Fr., Diving, Clifton Park, N.Y.
- Won the one-meter diving with 194.03
- Won the three-meter diving with 197.69
- It is her second Diver of the Week Award this season
