Scottsdale Boys, Fort Collins Girls Win 2016 U.S. Winter Juniors West

2016 U.S. WINTER JUNIOR CHAMPS – WEST

The 2016 U.S. Winter Junior Championships (East) are in the books, and we’ve now crowned our men’s, women’s, and combined team champions. The Scottsdale Aquatic Club boys came out on top, winning with a total of 392 points ahead of Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics (392) and the North Texas Nadadores (226). SAC had 3 swimmers finish in the top 8 individually to contribute to the win: Ryan Hoffer, Jack Blake, and Aaron Apel. The team also won all 5 of the relays.

The Fort Collins Area Swim Team girls put up 338 points to win the women’s team title. They had 5 swimmers contribute individual top 8 finishes to help the team to victory: Zoe Bartel, Kylee Alons, Coleen Gillilan, Bayley Stewart, and Audrey Reimer. The team also won the 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay, 200 free relay, and 400 free relay.

  9. Lakeside Aquatic Club- 137
  10. Mission Viejo Nadadores- 129

Scottsdale Aquatic Club came out on top of the combined team scores, leading all other teams by over 150 points. Also placing in the top 5 combined standings were Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics, Fort Collins Area Swim Team, Austin Swim Club, and Irvine Novaquatics.
