Ally Yancy of Phoenix, Arizona has made a verbal commitment to swim at the University of Denver for the next four years.
“I chose the University of Denver because of their strengths academically and athletically. Not only would DU set me up for success in the pool, but also in the classroom. The University of Denver also has such a great support system between the team and the coaches.”
Yancy is a senior at Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, where she the reigning Arizona High School champion in the 100 breast. At the Arizona State Swimming & Diving Championships last November, Yancy placed third in the 200 IM (2:04.27), won the 100 breast (1:02.62), and swam legs on the medley and 400 free relays, contributing to Pinnacle’s third-place finish in the team standings.
Yancy swims year-round at Scottsdale Aquatic Club. She is a national-level breaststroker who will add immediate impact to the Denver lineup next fall. Her times include:
