COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San Diego State senior Klara Thormalm has been named Mountain West Swimmer of the Week, while Fresno State senior Yuliya Tykha claimed Diver of the Week recognition. Air Force’s Corbyn Cormack is the Freshman of the Week.

It’s the second MW weekly award of Thormalm’s career and first for Tykha and Cormack.

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
KLARA THROMALM, SAN DIEGO STATE
Senior, Vetlanda, Sweden

  • Helped the Aztecs to a second-place finish at the Chick-Fil-A Invitational.
  • Earned first-place finishes in the 100-yard (1:01.80) and 200-yard (2:14.95) breaststroke. Also placed eighth in the 50-freestyle (23.70) and ninth in the 100-backstroke (57.34)
  • Led the 200-yard medley relay team to a first-place (1:45.35) finish and the 200-yard freestyle team to a second-place (1:37.72)  finish.

DIVER OF THE WEEK
YULIYA TYKHA, FRESNO STATE
Senior, Zaporozhye, Ukraine

  • Claimed first-place on the 1-meter springboard with a career-best score of 284.50.
  • Finished sixth on the 3-meter with a score of 232.65.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
CORBYN CORMACK, AIR FORCE
Freshman, Swimmer, Keller, Texas

  • Guided Air Force to a Tri-Meet sweep, with wins over Little Rock (122.00-48.00) and Tulane (122.00-101.00).
  • Clocked three first-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly (56.50), the 400-yard individual medley (4:25.55), and the 200-yard IM (2:05.61).
  • Helped the Falcons’ 400-yard medley team to a first-place finish with a time of 3:52.18.
