Sean Sullivan (2023) Decommits from Indiana; Signs NLI with Florida

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Carmel, Indiana’s Sean Sullivan, who announced his verbal commitment to Indiana University last October, has switched his commitment to the University of Florida. He signed a National Letter of Intent to swim for the Gators last week.

Sullivan is a senior at Carmel High School. He swims year-round with Carmel Swim Club. After his commitment announcement last fall, he went on to notch some impressive times – first at the CSC Fall Frenzy (with PBs of 1:42.95 in the 200 free, 1:48.73 in the 200 back, and 50.74 in the 100 fly), then at 2021 Winter Juniors West, where he swam lifetime bests in the 100 free (45.57), 100 back (48.65), 200 back (1:46.63), and 200 IM (1:51.20).

He won state titles in the 100 free, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, and 400 free relay at the 2022 Indiana High School Boys State Championships and came away with PBs in the 50 free (20.33), 100 free (44.22), and 50 back (21.82); he also anchored the free relays with 19.87 and 43.70.

Sullivan competed at Speedo Junior Nationals in Irvine last summer. He placed 11th in the 200 back and updated his LCM lifetime bests in the 50 free (24.00), 100 free (51.50), 200 free (1:52.09), 50 back (26.69), and 200 back (2:04.51).

Sullivan has kicked off the 2022-23 short course season with some big drops and new PBs in the 100/200 breast and the 200/500 free, 100 fly, and 200 IM.
