Shymanovich Hits 100 Breast BLR Record As #3 All-Time

2020 INTERNATIONAL SWIMMING LEAGUE – SEMIFINAL #1

After posting a new Belarusian national record in the men’s 50m breaststroke yesterday in this ISL semifinal #1, Ilya Shymanovich doubled up with a new mark in the 100m breaststroke today.

En route to placing 2nd in the race behind newly-minted world record holder Adam Peaty of London Roar who posted 55.49, Energy Standard’s Shymanovich touched in 55.69 for a huge lifetime best.

Splitting 26.05/29.64, Shymaovich was right on Peaty’s hip for the entire race, ultimately falling just .20 shy of the new WR the Brit set to grab 15 points for his squad. However, Shymanovich’s effort here represents his fastest ever, overtaking his previous national record of 55.83 posted in ISL match #9.

Splits for his previous PB and Belarusian record included 26.18/29.65 showing how the 26-year-old took it out .12 faster to help determine the difference between the two swims.

In terms of the all-time best men SCM 100m breaststroke racers, Shymanovich remains #3
