BRIDGEPORT, PA – Siena Water Polo earned both the Team Academic Award and seven individual All-Academic Team honors from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) for solid numbers in the classroom during 2021-22, the organization announced Tuesday.
“Our team members continue to impress as they find creative ways to succeed both in the water and in the classroom,” Head Coach Alex Williams said. “Their dedication to succeed in all aspects of life is what this program is all about.”
The Saints received the Team All-Academic Recognition for holding a 3.35 cumulative GPA, which exceeded the criteria of achieving a cumulative mark of 3.0 or better. The Green and Gold posted a 3.21 team mark during the Spring 2022 term, with seven members of the program holding a semester GPA of 3.0 or better.
Individually, the program saw athletes collect All-Academic Team honors for the 17th year in the history of the award. Rising senior Lily Graham (3.77) & recently earned the “Outstanding” distinction, which is awarded to student athletes who possess between a 3.71 – 4.0 cumulative GPA. Recent graduate Georgia Vargas ((3.65), returning fifth year Bianca Prinsloo (3.41), rising senior Anna Mossakowski (3.55), and rising junior Caroline Behr (3.47) were given the “superior” distinction for maintaining GPA’s between 3.41 – 3.70. Finally, rising senior Grace Boeve (3.2) and rising junior Sydney Arnold (3.32) received “Excellent” honors for holding marks between 3.20 – 3.40.
