Granite Bay High School senior Summer Spradley has made a verbal commitment to the Louisiana State University Tigers for the 2015-16 season. Spradley is a two-time CIF-Sac Joaquin Section finalist in the 100 free, and a three-time finalist in the 50 free. She was runner-up in both events as a junior, with 52.01 and 23.87, respectively.
Spradley is a member of Sierra Marlins Swim Team. Her top short course times over the last two seasons are:
50y free: 23.85
100y free: 52.01
200y free: 1:55.22
100y fly: 57.52
100y breast: 1:06.29
200y IM: 2:11.07
Spradley has a lot of versatility but does best in the sprint free events. The SEC is about as fast a conference as there is, and while Spradley’s times aren’t quite scorable yet, LSU has a young group of freestlylers who should make for excellent training partners.
Spradley will have at least one familiar face in Baton Rouge: former Sierra Marlins and Granite Bay High School teammate Sophie Weber will be a senior when Spradley arrives.
Congratulations! Your news is very exciting. We look forward to talking with you about your forthcoming adventures soon. Love, G & B
Congratulations Summer. I have watched you develop into a great teammate and swimmer over the last 4 yrs. It will be fun to watch you reach your goals at LSU
