Six Kenyon Women Earn Qualifying Marks At Fast Chance Invite

A total of six Kenyon Ladies swimmers earned NCAA ‘B’ cut times on Saturday during the team’s unscored Fast Chance Invitational at James A. Steen Aquatics Center.

Senior Amelia Loydpierson got the first qualifying time for Kenyon during the 200 breaststroke as she touched the wall in 2:21.57.

Next, Sarah Lloyd turned in a season-best time of 17:27.33 in the 1,650 freestyle. Another season-best mark came from Laura Duncan in the 100 breaststroke. The Fremont, Ohio native touched in 1:02.91 which secured the Ladies’ third ‘B’ cut of the afternoon.

Kenyon’s next ‘B’ cut came from Kanchi Desai. In the 200 butterfly, she touched in 2:05.74 which was a season-best time for the team.

Sydney Matteson and Ellie Crawford rounded out the Ladies’ efforts. Matteson clocked a 2:04.14 in the 200 backstroke while Crawford finished the 200 breaststroke in a season-best time of 2:18.74.

Next up for Kenyon is regional diving competitions coming up next week in Grand Rapids, Mich., and then it’s on to the NCAA Championship meet, which begins March 15 in Shenandoah, Texas.
