Racer X Aquatics 12-year-old Zoe Skirboll has lowered the National Age Group record in the 50 breast even further, going 28.70 in finals of the Dolfin Elite Showcase Classic in Clearwater, Florida.
That’s a drop of four tenths from her 29.18 prelims swim, and means she’s now taken a full half-second off the former NAG record held by Olivia Anderson. Once again, Skirboll’s winning time from the 12-year-old division was faster than any time in the 11-, 13- or 14-year-old classes. She won her class by about a second and a half. Later on in the session, Skirboll will swim the 50 free, where she’s within a second of the NAG record as well.
Skirboll should also have a shot to break the 100 breast NAG later in the week. Her lifetime-best is 1:03.88 from last month. The NAG also belongs to Anderson, who was 1:02.86 back in 2010. Skirboll currently sits #6 all-time in that event for the 11-12 age group.

Congrats. Impressive. I remember watching Zoe Skirboll 2 years ago on Florida Swim Network at that same meet. She was interviewed too and was very poised. She has much speed.
Wondering if anyone has a pointer to those all time lists. I remember a very fast 11-12 girl doing the 50-meter breast from Illinois. Kara Baurenfeind. That was about 1985 or 1986. I’m thinking it was at least a LSC record. But, where are those lists kept? Wondering.

I saw her swim at the Eastern Zone Championshio last summer! She is definitely one to watch!
