PRESS RELEASE – NORTHEASTERN
BOSTON– The Northeastern swimming and diving team swam past Central Connecticut State University on senior day, taking down the Blue Devils, 184-105 in Barletta Natatorium. The Huskies racked up 12 event wins out of a possible 16 in the victory.
Elly Morrison qualified for the NCAA Zone A Diving after competing in the three meter dive and one meter dive today. Lauren O’Sullivan was fantastic in the three meter dive, finishing first place with a score of 248.33.
Megan Clark led the way, capturing two first-place finishes. Her first was in 100 yard freestyle with a time of 51.34 and her second was in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 23.16. Bailey Smith was also able to secure two first-place finishes, the first in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 58.17 and the latter in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:05.71.
Rounding out the Huskies’ first-place finishes were Emma Metzger in the 1000 yard freestyle (10:50.37), Matilda Weiler in the 200 yard freestyle (1:55.05), Klara Juliusson in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:05.3), Mia Thomas in the 200 yard butterfly (2:10.3) and Kelly Cheng in the 100 yard butterfly (57.52).

The Huskies will be back at it again next weekend at the Duke Dog Diving Invitational from Feb. 1-2, hosted by James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va.

The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team completed in a dual meet at Northeastern University on Saturday afternoon. Northeastern defeated the Blue Devils 184-105.

KEY PERFORMANCES
- Alex Lindgren won the 200 yard Breatstroke (2:24.172) and the 200 yard IM (2:12.38).
- Erika Maercklein finished first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:11.10.
- Reagan Kenney (196.65 pts), Kristen Bednarz (196.43 pts), and Rachel Pinsky (166.80 pts) finished one, two, three in 1-meter diving.
