Smith Finishes With Eight Wins at the Speedo Western Canadian Open

15 year old Rebecca Smith from Red Deer, Alberta won eight events over the last four days of competition in Winnipeg at the 2016 Speedo Western Canadian Championships. On the final evening of competition Smith rounded her win total by taking the women’s 15 & under 50 freestyle and 200 IM.

Smith posted a 26.26 in the 50 freestyle and 2:20.57 in the 200 IM.

Kierra Smith took the 16 & over 200 IM in a time of 2:16.91. That makes it three victories for Smith who also collected gold in the 200 breaststroke and 400 IM.

Brooklynn Snodgrass won the women’s 16 & over 50 freestyle in a time of 26.19 and finished second to Smith in the 200 IM recording a 2:17.90.

Wyatt Yarish also picked up his third win of the competition winning the men’s 17 & over 200 butterfly in a time of 2:03.83. Yarish won both the 50 and 100 butterfly earlier in the competition.
