SMU Men Announce Addition of Diver Luke Sitz For 2024-25

DALLAS (SMU) — Head Coach Darian Schmidt has announced the addition of one student-athlete to the Mustangs for the 2024-25 season.

SMU is currently in the middle of the 2023-24 season, including a third place finish from John Dymond against Minnesota — who was then receiving votes in the CSCAA top 25.

Schmidt was named the 2023 American Athletic Conference Diving Coach of the Year. In each of his six seasons at SMU, Schmidt has earned the award.

The men’s diving class includes one student-athlete:

Luke Sitz I Prosper, TX I Rock Hill High School 

Prep: 6A State Champion … Seventh place at Senior Nationals …First place at 6A Regionals … District Champion … Zones Champion for 3 meter dive and platform … First place 2022 6A TISCA … Zones Silver Medalist in 1 meter dive … Qualified for 3 meter dive finals during his senior nationals … Finished second at USA Junior National Championship with then-synchro partner and as a result qualified for the Diving Olympic Trials

Sitz joins SMU’s three men’s divers currently on the roster — Dymond, Tyler Coffey and Ethan Hunter.
