“I’m really excited to announce my verbal commitment to Dartmouth!  The combination of academics and athletics was amazing to see and I can’t wait to be a part of the Dartmouth family.  Go Big Green!”

Laster swims for Polytechnic School and Rose Bowl Aquatics in Pasadena, and was the third-place finisher in both the 200 free (1:54.56) and 100 back (56.11) at the 2017 CIF-Southern Section Division III Championships in May. As a sophomore, she won those events individually, and contributed to Poly’s winning medley and 400 free relays, as well.

In club swimming, Laster had a successful summer season, earning new PBs in the 100/200/400/1500 free and 50/100 back. Most of her new times came out of the NCSA Summer Championship, where she achieved a ninth-place finish in the 50 back. A Winter Juniors qualifier in the 100y backstroke, Laster would have scored points for the Big Green in the C finals of the 100/200 back and 200 free (it took 51.56/4:58.31 to get second swims in the 100/500 freestyles) at the 2017 Ivy League Championships.

Top SCY times:

  • 100 back – 56.11
  • 200 back – 2:01.54
  • 100 free – 52.89
  • 200 free – 1:50.72
  • 500 free – 5:02.12

*IVY LEAGUE DISCLAIMER: A “verbal commitment” by a coach is not an offer of admission, as only the Admissions Office has that authority. An Ivy League coach can only commit his or her support in the admissions process. Moreover, an Ivy League Likely Letter is not an offer of admission to the university.

If you have a commitment to report, please send an email with a photo (landscape, or horizontal, looks best) and a quote to [email protected].
